General Services Director
The Town of Tappahannock is seeking an experienced, hands-on leader to serve as its General Services Director. In this key leadership role, you will oversee the Town's General Services Department, including water and sewer infrastructure, fleet management, capital equipment, and risk management. The Director supervises department personnel, manages budgets and capital projects, coordinates with contractors and utility providers, and works closely with other Town departments to ensure the efficient delivery of public services.
This is a full-time position with an excellent benefits package that includes employer-paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid time off; paid holidays for all federal and Virginia state holidays (16 total); and participation in the Virginia Retirement System (VRS).
The pay scale for this opportunity is $81,215.00 – $94,039.00 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

The Town of Tappahannock is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Class IV Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our Wastewater Department. In this essential role, you will help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Town's wastewater treatment facility, protecting public health, safeguarding the environment, and preserving our local waterways for future generations.

Maintenance Worker II
The Town of Tappahannock, located on the Rappahannock River, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Maintenance Worker II to join our Public Works team.
You will play an important role in maintaining the Town’s public infrastructure and essential services. As a Maintenance Worker II, you will perform a variety of heavy manual labor duties including waste collection, street and asphalt repairs, water and sewer maintenance, equipment operation, and emergency response to help keep the community safe, clean, and well maintained.
This position is full-time with an excellent benefits package that includes health, vision, dental and life insurance at no cost to the employee, paid time off and holiday pay that all Federal and State holidays (16 days total) and inclusion into the Virginia Retirement System (VRS).
The pay scale for this opportunity is $16.85 – $19.99 per hour
